Treatment Programs
Medical Detox
We built our detox program on a principle our founders learned through years of emergency medicine: withdrawal management must be both medically precise and emotionally safe. Our 24/7 physician-supervised detox unit uses individualized medication protocols for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and stimulant withdrawal, adjusting dosages in real time based on continuous vital sign monitoring.
The typical detox stay lasts 3 to 7 days, though our clinical team extends or adjusts timelines based on each client's response. Unlike stand-alone detox facilities, our program transitions clients directly into residential or outpatient treatment, ensuring the momentum built during detox carries forward into sustained recovery work.
Every detox room is private. Clients receive chef-prepared meals, access to our meditation room for guided relaxation, and daily check-ins with a counselor who begins building the therapeutic relationship that will anchor their residential stay.

Residential Treatment
Our 30- to 90-day residential program is the heart of what we built MAHP to provide. Clients live on-site in our 50-bed facility, participating in a structured daily routine that balances clinical intensity with restorative practice. Our mindfulness-centered model sets us apart: each day opens with 30 minutes of guided meditation and breathwork before breakfast, grounding clients in awareness before the therapeutic work begins.
Treatment includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, individual counseling, trauma-focused CBT, somatic experiencing, group therapy, 12-step facilitation, and peer accountability groups. Family sessions occur weekly. Equine therapy, fitness programming, and creative expression round out a schedule designed to engage the whole person, not just the addiction.
Our clinical team conducts weekly treatment plan reviews, adjusting modalities and intensity based on each client's progress. The goal is not simply abstinence but the development of self-awareness, emotional regulation, and relational skills that sustain recovery long after discharge.

Outpatient Program
Our outpatient program serves clients stepping down from residential treatment as well as those whose clinical assessment indicates that a less restrictive level of care is appropriate. Sessions are scheduled around work, school, and family obligations, running 2 to 12 weeks depending on individual needs.
Outpatient clients attend individual counseling, group therapy, and mindfulness training sessions at our Lemon Grove facility. We maintain the same evidence-based modalities used in residential care, including CBT, somatic experiencing, and peer accountability groups, adapted to a flexible format that allows clients to practice recovery skills in real-world settings between sessions.
Our founders designed the outpatient track specifically for the Lemon Grove community, recognizing that many local families need treatment that does not require leaving jobs or pulling children from school. Evening and weekend sessions are available.

Dual Diagnosis
More than half of the clients we have treated at MAHP arrived with a co-occurring mental health condition alongside their substance use disorder. Depression, generalized anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and ADHD frequently drive and sustain addictive behaviors. Treating the addiction without addressing these underlying conditions is a formula for relapse.
Our dual diagnosis program integrates psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and specialized therapy into the same treatment plan that addresses substance use. Dr. Vasquez and our psychiatric team work directly with the therapy staff to ensure that medication adjustments align with therapeutic progress and that no aspect of a client's mental health goes unaddressed.
Trauma-focused CBT and somatic experiencing are central to our dual diagnosis approach, as traumatic experiences are the most common driver of co-occurring disorders among our client population.
